On Friday and Saturday ,the 9th and 10th October,2015. We went to the International School of Lusaka to play the ISAZ national volleyball tournament. The 5 schools we played against were Banani, Ibex Hill, Kalulushi, Mpelembe and the International School of Lusaka. Our first game was against Banani, but they forfeited because they were late, so we played a friendly with them. Our second game was against Ibex Hill, we played well in this game and won the game 2 sets to 0. Our third game was against Kalulushi we won one set but lost the other two sets so 1 set to 2 they won that game. Then we went to the semi-finals and we played against Mpelembe but we lost that game 2 sets to zero, so that meant we had to play for third and fourth place. We played our best in this game and the points were very close but we lost 2 sets to zero. Overall we came out 4th out of 8 schools, almost all the teams we played against were good but most of our players had injuries from basketball but they did well and played their best and the team had a good time together and we bonded and became closer, after playing this game. We learned to be patient, to know that no one is perfect and that everyone makes mistakes. We learned how to communicate, to learn from our mistakes and others. We had lots of fun and enjoyed it and can’t wait for next year. Big thanks to the whole team and Mr Grove for driving us to and from Lusaka, for being there to support us and helping us improve and become better. The women of the matches were Shoshanna Ronald, Janki Desai, Kathleen Kaufman, Bisa Bwalya and Ysabelle Cariaga, they really played well . Weaknesses we had were covering, playing three touches and sending the ball on the first play to the setter. We did well and thank God for this day and all the tournaments we had and that no one was seriously injured.

It has been a good year for progressing. I have enjoyed seeing the girls develop skills and play more patient volleyball. Ysabelle did an excellent job in a new libero position and Natalya, Kathleen and Janki started attacking more which is great to see. Well done Natasha for leading the group and to all the girls for getting so far. Such a mental battle is volleyball which often affects performance, but consistency is the key, and then we will beat Mpelembe! Amano girls have made great improvements.
