U19G Football regionals

We, the under 19 girls football team, went to Lechwe School to compete in the ISAZ under 19 regional 7 aside football games. There were 9 teams in attendance namely, Simba, Trident, Chengelo, Mpelembe, Ndola Trust, Nsansa, Amano, Lechwe and Kalulushi schools. We had to play 5 games in total. Our first game was against Nsansa which ended with Amano 2 - 0 Nsansa. We really played well in this game and had a very strong defence. The two goals were scored by Diana and Rosemary. Our second game was against Kalulushi, we had a good defence and attack, we had many shots on goal though we were able to only score 1 goal in that game and so we won that game 1 - 0. The goal was scored by Diana. Our third game was against Chengelo. We had a bit of fear and gave them an easy goal but then we strengthened our defence and so our game ended 1 - 0 to them but even with this result we went into the semi-finals, coming out 2nd in our pool.

Our semi-final game was against Ndola Trust, we went in thinking this would be an easy game but we learned quickly that it was not going to be an easy game. We kept our defence organised and attack strong so we had some shots on goal, but was only able to score 1 goal. The result of that game placed us in the finals for first or second position.

We came head to head against Chengelo again and this time we played really hard and put in our best and that game ended 0 - 0 and in order to determine who were the regional champions we went to penalties. Natalie and Natasha scored the first two but after 3 penalties we were tied at 2 - 2. Unfortunately we lost by 1 goal in sudden death and so Chengelo were the regional champions.
The team played really well and we came second in all the under 19 girls football team. The teams' spirit, perseverance, hardwork and sportsmanship were encouraging and their 'never give up attitude' got them into second place.
