Boys Volleyball

On Saturday 23rd  September, Amano went to Lechwe to play Volleyball and Basketball. We played against Mpelembe, Kalulushi and, of course, Lechwe. Our first volleyball game was against Lechwe. In our first set we were well prepared and won it 13-15. The second set caught us a bit off-guard so they took the second set 10-15. The last set however, we fought really hard and so did they. We kept the game tense and pushed it to 15-15, when they retrieved the ball and scored one more point closing that game 15-17, having won 2 sets to 1.

Our second game was against Kalulushi. They were well prepared, but so were we. The game was tense, but our communication was weak. Their supporters chanted a lot, distracting our guys for a little while. It was just enough however as they took the game 2 sets to 0.

Our last and final game was against Mpelembe. In this game our communication was totally off. We let the ball drop easily and made very few sets. At the end we lost that game 2 sets to 0 also.
Anyhow, though we were a bit outnumbered and scorched by the sun, the guys kept their cool and gave everything. We finished our games with some sense of victory as we saw a massive improvement from the previous week’s tournament.

Finally I just want to thank Mr and Mrs Grove, Mr Jarrett, Mr Kapalaula, Mr Kirk and ultimately God for their support and having made it a fun day.
