U16 Girls Volleyball

On Saturday the 9th of September, the U16 girls played Volleyball and Basketball hosted at Amano. We were scheduled to play one Volleyball game and one Basketball game, both against Lechwe.

U16 girls volleyball team

First, we played volleyball and this was the first time we playing together as we were a completely new team. In the game we were very rusty and weren't alert. We failed to return serves, we communicated poorly and we weren't confident when passing the ball. So Lechwe won that game with 2 sets to 0.

After loosing the volleyball game badly, we were ready to work hard in basketball and so we went into the game ready to put up a good fight. We defended well and had possession of the ball for most of the game. At halftime, Lechwe was leading 11 to 5. We motivated each other and went into the second half of the game ready to work hard. The game was tough. Both teams managed to score a few more baskets but Lechwe ended up winning the game 15 to 11.

Even though volleyball never went well, many good skills were displayed in basketball. We have a lot to work on as a team and Saturday was a wake up call.

I would like to thank the team for trying their best, Mr Grove, Mr Jarett, Diana and Natasha for coaching, everyone who cheered us on and most of all, God, for protection and a lovely day.
